Panalpina is recruiting a Country Head of Finance, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Participation in the Business Plan development and definition of objectives short/midterm
- Proactive analysis of investment plans
- Steer the short-term planning (budget/forecast) process
- Analyze results, report findings to country management and ensure/supervise implementation of action plans
- Ensure compliance to the Internal Control System (ICS)
- Proactively drive the value creation program and value creating initiatives for the corresponding country
- Treasury and Foreign Exchange Management
- Cash planning and management
- Foreign currency management in line with Group standards
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to PAC as per Reporting and Administration Manual (RAM)
- Statutory reporting in accordance with local laws and requirements
- Co-operation with external and internal auditors and follow-up of their reports, Tax
- Proactively monitor the tax exposure and drive the reduction of the tax rate for the corresponding country
- Tax returns for income tax, capital tax and indirect taxes
- Establish local credit policies and ensures adherence
- Strict monitoring of accounts receivable and respective reporting to the Region and PAC
- Proactively drive the reduction of DSO and overdue receivables as well as the extension of the DPO for the corresponding country
- Reduce WIP as much as possible through monitoring and driving the DII down
- Assure appropriate staffing and corresponding training
- Act as a business partner to the Country management team
- Develop proposals to realize synergies and efficiency improvements on country level
- Support country management in all finance related issues/projects
- Special tasks as per country management or Regional Head of Finance for respective country
- Keep control over fixed assets
- Participate in country-level review meetings regarding quality, health, safety and environment action plans, activities and performance
- Review and approve all relevant country-level objectives & targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment
- Evaluate strategic and operational risks and opportunities to country-level operations and business interests regarding quality, health, safety and environmental topics, including environmental and workplace health and safety regulations, changing expectations of stakeholders, and national/local issues
Requisites
- University Degree/technical high school and/or CPA
- Management experience of at least 5 years
- Deep understanding of financial and cost accounting
Tax experience
- Basic knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics
- Good understanding of processes and SSC concepts
- High controlling minded and with the drive to proactively challenge and improve the ‘status quo’ of Corporate Standards
- Proven People Management and Leadership skills (Recruitment/Selection/Training & Development/Coaching/Conflict Management/Performance Management)
- Project Management Skills
- Ability to prepare and work with reports
- Cost optimization oriented
- Ability to work under pressure (tight deadlines)
- Is familiar with entrepreneurial and strategic matters
