Chief Commercial Officer

Robert Walters is recruiting a Chief Commercial Officer, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Meeting and exceeding agreed targets for securing new customers as well as meeting revenue targets for existing customers
- Develop and execute strategic plans to leverage facilities to ensure both the terminal and the off dock facility are optimised
- Serve as a reliable and energetic leader for the commercial department to create a highly efficient team, while at the same time ensure the development of employees
- Work closely with other departments to ensure mutual understanding of the service delivery requirements and support the CEO to promote a commercial mindset throughout the organization
- Develop specific Accounts programs and manage these customers accounts/portfolios and ensure client satisfaction while building a robust business network with the shipping industry both locally and internationally
- Responsible for budget preparations and monitoring and establishing strategic marketing plans and observe closely the local market to monitor the development within shipping business
- Represents the company in local and international industry conferences/events to build and maintain client relationships
- Manage overall communications including branding requirements, handling of international port PR activities and prepare press releases (Media) and regular updates on various developments
- Ensure TSA/SLA are established where considered effective and manage maintenance of overview of these contractual relationships between the terminal & customers, contract frameworks & contract standards, tariff structures
- Develops and executes plans for making the organisation a truly customer driven organisation. Making the customer requirements of paramount importance for decision making
- The Chief Commercial Officer is the main entry point for all commercial interactions with the commercial department and will frequently interact with the regional office
- Manage and coordinate initiatives and use available tools to achieve joint
commercial objectives including the Sales Pipeline, Customer Satisfaction Survey, CRM etc
Requisites
- Degree in related discipline
- Five years marketing/sales experience in transportation or related industry
- Document success as a sales executive personally handling the customers
- Experience from container terminals or line management at a shipping line is an advantage
- Familiar with best practices in the industry, with respect to marketing, sales, and business development
- Ability to speak English, Portuguese or Spanish will be a significant advantage
