Panalpina is recruiting a Country Head of Human Resources, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Is accountable for securing the delivery of the people related elements of the company strategy in the country
- Act as a business partner to the Country management
- Ensure that all relevant HR policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented and followed and meet all legislative requirements
- Implement and apply effective strategies to attract/recruit, develop and retain talent
- Drive and secure high quality and full adherence to the compensation & benefits process, including pension and insurance schemes in accordance with external labor market competitiveness as well as internal consistency
- Drive and secure the performance management process and consolidation
- Support and secure training and development plans, succession planning, talent management and staff retention for all levels of employees
- Define and secure solutions for closing key capability (organization) and competence (individual) gaps of the top employees in the country and report them to the Regional Head of HR
- Secure manpower planning in line with organizational needs including expat requirements
- Direct and manage all activities of the local HR team members, ensuring highly qualified motivated staff by creating a high commitment work environment
- Provide HR key figures to meet internal and external requirements (staff turnover, leave of absence, etc)
- Ensure compliance with local law, employee rights and with the company’s code of conduct
- Ensure the integrity of HR related information
- Proactively monitor HR trends (HR capital, C&B matters, industrial and legislation) and ensure that resulting issues are addressed and resolved
- Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
- Participate in country-level review meetings regarding quality, health, safety and environment action plans, activities and performance
- Review and approve all relevant country-level objectives & targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment
- Evaluate strategic and operational risks and opportunities to country-level operations and business interests regarding quality, health, safety and environmental topics, including environmental and workplace health and safety
- Regulations, changing expectations of stakeholders, and national/local issues
Requisites
- Decision Making Authority

- Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working
- Sound know-how of and experience in the application of HR concepts, processes and instruments: Detailed knowledge of local legislation and regulations and of the local labor market
- Project management and process skills
- Experience in an international work environment is an asset
- Excellent people management and leadership skills (recruitment/selection/training & development/coaching/conflict management/performance management)
- Good communications skills to work with all level of employees
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Presentation and organizational skills

- Minimum bachelor’s degree preferably with a diploma in Business/Economics, HR, Legal or related disciplines
- Good orientation in all major HR functional areas
- Min. 5 years of human resources leadership experience
- Local language and fluency in written and spoken English
