PSI is recruiting a Deputy Chief of Party, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Work in close collaboration with the COP and Technical Advisors to provide strategic technical input into program activities including planning, design, implementation and evaluation through the selection of most appropriate models
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance through training, mentorship, technical support and capacity building
- Ensure project strategy utilizes scientific and evidence based good practice programming based on WHO, PMI, PEPFAR and other normative guidelines
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government, donors, partners, and key population networks, and attend relevant technical working groups, conferences etc. as required
- Synthesize lessons and contribute technical content to project communications and knowledge management initiatives
- These include practical and policy resources for use by program implementers such as toolkits and quality standards guidance
Requisites
- MBA, MPH, MD or other relevant degree
- Familiar with U.S. Government regulations (e.g. Federal Acquisition Regulations and Foreign Assistance Act)
- Have experience and are passionate in building local technical, management and leadership capacity
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Creative, innovative and strategic thinker, with: excellent communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; and proven ability to produce results
- You have demonstrated skills in effectively working with government, donors, other USAID projects, local organizations and partners
