Environmental Supervisor

Eni is recruiting an Environmental Supervisor, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
  • Ensuring compliance with the environmental policies, procedures, commitments and programs, according to the Company’s rules and with the regulations of the State and International Entities
  • Monitoring the use of specific equipment to ensure proper application of the environmental policies in the Company
  • Applying methodologies to assess the performance of the implemented environmental policies
  • Keeping the documentation of the Environmental Management System complete, updated and available to all areas of the Company
  • Ensuring compliance with the procedures of the Management System in the Environmental area approved by the Company
  • Presenting measures aimed at minimizing environmental impacts that may occur during the activities
  • Carrying out the maintenance of the environmental records and reports system reflecting the implementation of the mitigation and compensation measures required from the environmental framework
  • Controlling, guiding, checking and assessing, in a proper and preventive way, the environmental impacts of the production processes
  • Ensuring the maintenance of effective systems of identification, assessment and control of the significant environmental effects
  • Assessing any possible environmental impacts on water, air and soil quality, resulting from the on going operations in the Company, based on the results of control and inspections in the field
  • Assessing the environmental effects caused by solid waste, air pollutants and liquid effluents identifying their consequences
  • Following up the environmental audits carried out in the Company, creating preventive and/or corrective actions to the non-conformities observed
  • May provide training in the environment area, when requested by his superior, developing educational materials for the training courses and assessing the courses
  • Informing the new employees about environmental protection measures and procedures, applicable to the tasks they will perform
  • Making sure that the environmental incidents are reported, investigated and that effective measures will be taken to address them
  • Informing his immediate superior about the on going activities, so as to promote continuous improvement of the Environmental Management system
Requisites
  • Fluent Portuguese and English
  • Computer knowledge from user’s point of view
  • Cross-cutting knowledge of the oil industry
  • Education at graduate level or higher in Environmental Engineering
  • Extensive experience in oil and gas
  • Good knowledge of:
  • The Environmental Management System
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Interpreting environmental laws and rules
  • The treatment of solid, liquid and gaseous waste
  • The area of Environmental risk management, including risk assessment
