Finance Intern (Global Fund Project)

UNDP is recruiting a Finance Intern (Global Fund Project), to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
  • Under the overall guidance of the Project Coordinator, the Global Fund and LPP Project intern supports the provision of technical and managerial services ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work. The project intern promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations
  • The project intern works in close collaboration with the operations and programme staff in the Global Fund and LPP Project and country office and with UNDP HQs staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery
  • Ensures efficient finance support, focusing on achievement of the following results:
  • Provide support to project officer in bibliography research, including international and domestic legislation as well as national policies and strategies
  • Provide support in translation Portuguese to English and English to Portuguese relevant project documents and products
  • Assist Project Officer in the managerial and operational aspects of the project, .e.g. organization, and operationalization of seminars and workshops
  • Draft summaries of relevant legislation and policies
  • Share insights on legal aspects related to international and domestic law relevant to countries’ HIV Response, especially comparative analysis
  • Provision of information for project reports, e.g. financial report, activity reports, meeting reports
  • Follow-up with other United Nations agencies for information relating to HIV and the Law, both domestic and international law
  • Follow-up recommendations to Angola from International Human Rights Mechanisms
  • Preparation of routine correspondence (faxes, memoranda, and reports) with project’s stakeholders, e.g. executive, legislative. Civil Society organizations, in accordance with the Country Office (CO) SOP
  • Extracting, inputting, copying and filing data from various sources
  • Participation in the training for the operations/projects staff
Requisites

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) in Business or Public Administration, economics, accounting, finance management or related social sciences
  • Have graduated with a university degree in Business or Public Administration, economics, accounting, finance management or related social sciences (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation
  • No experience required
  • Fluency in Portuguese and excellent working knowledge of English is required
Conditions Of Internship
  • UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship
  • All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring government or institutions
  • The intern must provide proof of enrollment in the health insurance plan
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity
