Unicef is recruiting a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- The incumbent of this post will ensure that the UNICEF Country Office has useful, valid and reliable information on
- The situation of children's and women's rights
- The performance of UNICEF-supported programmes including their relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability, and in emergency contexts, their coverage, coordination and coherence
- The incumbent will work within the UN country team to support UNCT goals for delivering valid and reliable information on the attainment of the MDGs and other goals, and on the performance of UN-supported programmes
- The incumbent will assist in the establishment of a monitoring an evaluation tools which enhance partnership between the UNCT, government and other key players to collectively track progress on MDGs and other international commitment for children
- The incumbent will also assist in the development of national capacities for monitoring, evaluation and research, with special attention to the interest, concern and participation of government, community, and civil society stakeholders
Requisites
- Communicates effectively to varied audiences, including during formal public speaking
- Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Consistently achieves high-level results, managing and delivering projects on-time and on-budget
- Has good leadership and supervisory skills; co-ordinates group activities, ensuring that roles within the team are clear
- Translates strategic direction into plans and objectives
- Analyzes and integrates potentially conflicting numerical, verbal and other data from a number of sources
- Demonstrates, applies and shares expert technical knowledge across the organization
- Sets clearly defined objectives and plans activities for self, own team or department
