BP is recruiting a Rotating Equipment Engineer, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Support Regional REE annual work activity, including identifying areas which require central support to provide capability or improve performance across GOO
- Provide input to Region annual plans & budgets for REE sub-discipline related activities
- Lead the Region’s response to REE related incidents and emerging issues
- Support Region Teams (e.g. AEST, TAR) by performance or review of complex or non-routine REE calculations and analyses that require deep discipline knowledge
- Provide support for high risk discipline-related MOCs or deviation requests to discipline technical practices
- Participate in design reviews for Region small projects & modifications that warrant strong REE discipline input
- Provide REE expertise for incident investigations, RCA, FMEA, and development of performance standards
- Support the P&M Team by providing REE discipline review as needed to ensure small projects and modifications adhere to regulatory requirements, appropriate BP specifications, quality management requirements, and life cycle operability standards
- Provide local REE interface support for brownfield GPO Projects
- Provide REE expertise to support Fit for Service barrier evaluations, gap closure plans and improvements
- Provide REE support for retirement, creation, or revision of site-specific engineering specifications
- Provide REE technical input and review of complex, non-routine engineering procurement packages
- Provide REE technical support for Region Category Management, SQM activities, and vendor/fabricator quality issues resolution
- Identify opportunities for safety improvement, optimization and risk reduction across Region
- Support hazard identification and risk assessment studies associated with revalidations, small projects, or modifications for existing assets (e.g., MoCs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, HAZIDs, Human Factors Analysis and What-Ifs)
- Support or action assigned Region REE actions associated with HAZOP/LOPA findings, HVL’s, Alert bulletins, audit findings, traction activities, and complex engineering studies
- Provide REE support in development of region-specific risk barrier diagrams (bow-ties) and Risk Action Plans (RAPs)
- Review and validate REE related incidents to ensure consistency in reporting and to identify Region-wide trends
- Support REE learning by reviewing relevant incidents from BP or industry and proactively share lessons with Region and Global organizations
- Record relevant learning in shared learning systems, incorporate into local activities, specifications/practices/procedures and escalate high priority lessons
- Support and participate in Region REE Discipline LCoP meetings, sharing lessons learned and sub-discipline trends & issues with others
- Support REE training, mentoring, and development
Requisites
- Minimum 7 years of Rotating Equipment Engineering or similar experience
- Good understanding of process hazard and risk analysis techniques (RCFA, 5 Why’s, HAZID, Fault Tree, etc.)
- Understanding of HSSE management systems and industry HSSE standards
- Good organizational, planning, written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in or supporting the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry, preferably offshore facilities
- Chartered/Professional Engineer
- Knowledge in the design, operation and modification of upstream oil and gas processing facilities, preferably FPSOs
- Practical experience of field or plant commissioning and operation, particularly offshore, including process and and production systems
- Experience in multi-cultural environments
