CA Global is recruiting a Sage Pastel Evolution Specialist, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
- Good Knowledge in database replication and the ability to apply it using different approaches
- Install and configure new SQL Servers
- Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
- When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
- Ability to identify the LOCKED processes/tables and to tell what caused this LOCKING
- Document the company’s database environment so that we can know exactly what is needed to build an environment from scratch
Requisites
- Good knowledge in writing complex SQL statements
- Three years of experience in sqlserver database administration or above
- Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexe
- When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
- Data importation and exportation
- End user/ Desktop support
- IT related degree/National Diploma
- Sage Pastel Evolution Certification preferably with Branch accounting
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementation and support of Sage Pastel Evolution
- Database Management
- Report writing in either BIC (Sage Intelligence Reporting)/Crystal Reports/ SQL Reporting services
- Basic Portuguese will be an advantage
