Microsoft is recruiting a Senior Program Manager, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Work with strategic customers in the function of a SAP basis architect reviewing and advising large scale SAP deployments on Microsoft platform and Azure IaaS
- Work with partners reviewing and advising SAP deployment architectures on the Microsoft platform and Azure
- Maintain and grow partner ecosystem around the topic of SAP deployments on Azure
- Create high quality technical guidance documents and artifacts gleaned from the customer engagements
- Handle escalation requests from field teams and work with Cloud and Enterprise product development engineers and SAP development engineers to remove technical blockers
- Work with the already existing Microsoft team located in the SAP headquarter in Germany and a SAP development team located in the Microsoft headquarter to develop and adapt SAP reference architectures to new developments in the Microsoft platform, Azure, SAP and HANA
- Grow and assist teams within Microsoft to drive adoption of Azure as the leading platform for SAP applications independent of OS and DBMS
Requisites
- Proven architect skills in the space of SAP Basis and Microsoft platforms
- Knowledge in NetWeaver architecture and SAP BW
- Hands on in SAP performance investigations throughout the complete stack of SAP application, DBMS, OS and infrastructure especially Networking to be able to trace, capture, diagnose and isolate complex multifactorial performance problems
- Ability to engage with customers and partners to understand their business needs and priorities
- Ability to communicate efficient in effectively to SAP Basis administrators and DBAs on the one side and Senior Management and CxO on the other side
- Architect/design SAP solutions that handle significant scale/volume/complexity on Azure IaaS
- Excellent communicator, and have the ability to present to audiences in a clear, effective, and motivating manner
- Soft Skills: Role is a global role that will require dealing with diverse cultures, languages and colleagues
- Ability to run training workshops/classrooms
- Flexible for travel and last moment escalations
- Role requires deep engagement with individuals and teams spanning possibly the broadest ever range of skillsets - ranging from highly focused/niche SAP or Microsoft developers, customer administrators, partner consultants, Microsoft PFE/CSS support teams, Microsoft account managers, Senior Microsoft Executives/Leaders both in EPG and Product Groups and CxO within Fortune 500 companies
- The candidate will have experience preferably as SAP Basis Architect with a mix of architecture and technical lead roles
- Experience should include as many of the below as possible:
SAP Basis Skills: OS/DB Migration, SAP Sizing, SAP HA/DR Design, SAP Operational Best Practices, SAP version upgrades
- OS Skills: deep technical knowledge on at least one of the following - Windows, Linux (SUSE or RHEL), UNIX. Knowledge should include performance analysis and debugging. Deep level of knowledge on HA/DR technologies including design and implementation of Geographically Dispersed HA/DR solutions
- RDBMS Skills: deep knowledge including performance query analysis, sizing, HA/DR and storage/disk design of at least 1-2 of the following: SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Hana, MaxDB
- Hyper-Visor/Cloud/Networking Skills: Able to design, deploy and troubleshoot solutions based on the following: Azure, Hyper-V, VMWare, AWS
- BS/BE or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a college/university of national repute
- Strong track record of delivering and deploying reliable, available and scalable SAP architectures to customers
