Chief Accountant

Duties

• You enjoy working with a varity of tasks in different areas and being challenged to develop and optimise processes. In addition, you are expected to:
• Familiarize yourself with all credit control, accounting, quality and other relevant company procedures
• Ensure customers pay within their agreed payment terms, chasing payments when necessary, as per the company’s debt collection procedure
• Ensure timely invoicing for the services and reimbursable as per the contract, and close coordination with our Operations Team to understand the contract terms and execute accordingly
• Timely reconciliation to customer accounts and balance confirmation including timely reconciliation and collection of withholding tax certificates from customers
• Month end reporting requirements around debtors balances
• Production of overdue letters for all debtors
• Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Ensuring all compliance & reporting work with various taxation authorities are completed and paid within a timely and accurate fashion
• Ensure that general accounting guidelines, good accounting practices and established procedures for A.P. Moller-Maersk are followed

Requisites

• You have a university degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a Finance related course. Moreover, you possess the following qualifications:
• Proven necessary understanding and experience of accounting and field of finance
• Good spoken and written command of the English and Portugese language
• More than 2 years of experience from similar position or as an accountant is required
• Solid experience in dealing with Tax Authorities
