Driver

Duties

• Under the general supervision of the Transport Focal Point and the direct supervision of the Assistant Representative to the Administration, the driver shall assume the following responsibilities and tasks:
• Keep the project vehicles in good working order and in proper use
• Ensure the daily maintenance of the vehicles by establishing the necessary relations with the maintenance and servicing agents
• Update records of the use of vehicles, staff, equipment and material transported in and out of the locality
• Receive the material and equipment and be responsible for their arrival at the Project office
• Transport the staff on duty and on mission to and from the location of the Project, receive all staff and guests from and take them to the airport, as well as facilitate all customs and migration formalities as necessary
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, processes and other communications/items to and from the office; go to the post office, airport, government agencies, other United Nations agencies, institutions, project sites, etc., to take and deliver items and communications; Keep records as needed
• Help the Country Office to perform simple functions like making and answering phone calls, making photocopies, keeping records, etc.
• Perform other tasks related to your role

Requisites

Minimum requirements

• Angolan nationality
• To be resident in the locality for which you are applying
• Secondary level scholarity completed
• Basic knowledge of English or French
• Knowledge of the local (national) language
• Valid driving licence with light professional category (minimum)

Technical/Functional Skills

• Experience of at least 05 years as a driver
• Basic knowledge of management systems FAO (GRMS, TALEO)
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to an evolving and complex context and within multidisciplinary teams and different cultural backgrounds
• Basic knowledge of computer use
• Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships and team spirit both within the Organization and with external partners such as government officials, UN partners, donors or NGOs
• Knowledge of mechanics
