Electrical Reliability Engineer

Fircroft is recruiting a Electrical Reliability Engineer, to be based in Luanda, Angola.

Duties
  • Responsible for the overall integrity and reliability of all Electrical Installations, Systems and Equipment for the company. This includes but not limited to trouble-shooting role, reliability improvements developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant equipment operations
  • Possess knowledge of terminology of various codes and standards, safety rules, laws, regulations, departmental policies and procedures, governing the design and installation of electrical equipment and Systems (Power Generation and Distribution, Substations, Transformers, Switchgear, Protection Relays, Electrical Switching, LV and MV Motors and Motor Starters, UPS and Battery Charger Systems, Variable Frequency Drives/Soft Starters, Electrical Actuators, Grounding Systems, Lighting, Cathodic Protection, Portable Electrical Equipment and LV Distribution Systems etc) in order to provide design, construction, commissioning and start up support, design reviews and improvements, etc
  • Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant assets or business operations through fault elimination, risk management, life cycle management and performance monitoring and improvement
  • Responsible for leading RCA's in the area of expertise and report outs; Compiling recommendations and implementation/close-out follow-up
  • Develops and optimizes PM's for all the electrical equipment including EX equipment; Will on a scheduled base, revisit the active PM's and validate using sound RCM methodologies
  • Will be creating and grandfathering the MOC's and Engineering Work Request (EWR's) for all Electrical Equipment
  • Participate in the development of the organizational capability of the Maintenance & Reliability Group. Participate in the recruiting, training and developing Angolan Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Staff in plant maintenance roles
  • Coordinate, mentor and guide Reliability Electrical Engineers, Technicians and trainees in order for them to evolve in their jobs and guarantee quality levels of the service provided; Support Authorisation & training of electrical isolation officers
  • Technical Support: Acts as "Electrical Person Responsible" which includes sole accountability and responsibility for all electrical safety on site
  • Function as the Company Subject Matter Expert, SME, specialist for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of complex or critical Electrical Systems and Equipment - Power Generation and Distribution, Substations, Transformers, Switchgear, Protection Relays, Electrical Switching, LV and MV Motors and Motor Starters, UPS and Battery Charger Systems, Variable Frequency Drives/Soft Starters, Electrical Actuators, Grounding Systems, Lighting, Cathodic Protection, Portable Electrical Equipment and LV Reticulation Systems
  • Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology; This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Leads efforts in diagnosing electrical/electronic system malfunctions and prescribes repairs or changes in work practice
  • Reviews findings with Maintenance Superintendent or Engineering when electrical problems are complex or may lead to extended downtime or high costs
  • Estimates material and labour requirements for assigned jobs, prepares material requisitions for approval; Plans and lays out work in accordance with work requirements utilizing drawings, sketches, and manuals as necessary
  • Reporting and Maintenance Team interface: Maintain close working interaction with the following stakeholders Plant Leadership, Engineering, HES, Production, Maintenance, SCM, Key 3rd party contractors (OEM's, consultants, etc), and Subject Matter Experts across the LNG industry to identify and resolve safety and reliability opportunities of the electrical assets; Work closely with maintenance, operations, HES and engineering personnel on a daily basis
  • Perform routine analysis of equipment performance and equipment integrity and report against key performance indicators; Participate, facilitate and lead assessment teams focused on improving reliability, asset utilization and production efficiency
  • Champions company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and practices
Requisites
  • B.S. Engineering Degree (required)
  • M.S. Reliability Engineering Degree (preferred)
