General Manager – FMCG

Millar Cameron is recruiting a General Manager - FMCG, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Align the FMCG distribution strategy with the Group GM of FMCG
- Analyse the competitive landscape, develop the RTM and propose optimized organisation and adequate plan, around dedicated channels, having as main objective to develop the sales of our FMCG portfolio
- Coordinate the implementation of new product launches and promotions into the trade as agreed in the annual marketing calendar in conjunction with all the relevant stakeholders
- Key point of contact for our International Brands regarding the implementation of the strategy and customer/market insights
- Define detailed and accurate reports measuring the performance of each of the brands as agreed with the stakeholders
- Monitoring of price strategy & price control across all MT channels as defined by Management
- Develop the Customer based portfolio through a sustainable growth strategy
- Seek opportunities at existing Key Accounts to improve product/company market share to support market penetration
- Close monitoring on sales, delivery, credit terms and payments, along with implementation of SOPs
- Measure (daily, weekly and monthly) and report sales & distribution achievements vs targets
- Ensure operational compliance with best practices and quality assurance standards
- In charge of the company activities including operations (Distribution Center), team and financials (P&L, Credit policy)
- Close control of inventory levels to avoid slow moving of write-offs
- Optimize management of OWC
- Empower & coach the team of 70 people to enhance the operational performance
Requisites
- At least 10 years experience in the FMCG industry ideally in emerging markets
- At least 5 years working in a senior management position
- A degree in a relevant field (Business Administration or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of working and living in developing countries is essential
- Full fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory
- Highly analytical with strong leadership skills
