ManpowerGroup is recruiting a Head of Accounting, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Manage chief accounts of each region to ensure books are closed on time and also ensure their skills and training are up to required standards
- Partnering with the Regional Finance Controllers to ensure Finance and Operations are always aligned
- Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of monthly results, forecasts, yearly budget and financial statements
- Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, balance sheet management (excluding inventory related items) and royalty management
- Ensures that the computer system continues to operate as required. Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met
- Consolidates company statutory and management financial reports from both regions and presents one company report to Group
- Developing, enhancing and promoting a strong internal control environment throughout the company
- Ensures the proper implementation of the established Company’s policies and procedures in the most efficient manner and at the lowest cost
- Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
- Supervises his direct subordinates work programs
- Undertakes any other duties as assigned
Requisites
- Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accountancy as a minimum
- MBA or Professional Accounting Qualification is a plus
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position in FMCG, or Cash & Carry or Retail business in a large organization (USD hundreds of millions T/O)
- Controlling experience
- Emerging markets experience ideally in Africa
- Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment and willing to adapt to change
- Diligent with strong attention to detail
