BP is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Provide mechanical engineering (ME) expertise to all teams, including performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine mechanical engineering calculations and analyses
- Producing and updating regional mechanical ME documentation for Angola region
- Provide ME expertise to Management of Change (MoC) process and to brownfield projects and modifications
- Provide ME expertise to hazard identification and risk assessment processes
- Provide ME expertise in performing incident investigations, and equipment defect investigations
- Ensure that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks in Computarised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Operator Workbench are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies
- Develop and update the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback and perform periodic review of CMMS and Operator Workbench effectiveness
- Perform reliability analysis for mechanical equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trends performance metrics
- Provide ME expertise to delivery of regional actions. Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is mechanical engineering
- Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, incorporates into local activities and escalates high priority lessons
- Proactive identification of engineering issues on site and pursuing engineering solutions to close out
Requisites
- Substantial experience and technical understanding of design, maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment in oil & gas processing facilities
- Knowledge of governing codes, industry standards and local regulations relevant to mechanical engineering, and proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for mechanical equipment
- Proven ability in practical application of upstream and regional engineering standards and practices for mechanical equipment
- Able to work independently and with little supervision.
- Professional accreditation, such as Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer
- People leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
