SGS is recruiting a Metallurgist Laboratory Supervisor, to be based in Negola, Angola.
Duties
- Supervise and perform mechanical/metallurgical test operations
- Ensure that all test work is carried out in a compliance with relevant quality management system procedures and other applicable documentation, methods, standards, regulations
- Calibration and maintenance of testing and measuring equipment
- Preparing of samples for metallurgical testing and conducting of metallurgical testing
- Marking of test pieces on original samples
- Ensure identification and traceability of test sample
- Advise priority of test work based on clients urgencies to the relevant technicians
- Ensure cleanliness and overall housekeeping is maintained to an acceptable level
- Ensure that all the test reports are complete and correct according to the relevant standards defined by clients
- Ensure that calibrations of all the relevant equipment are compliant and up to date
Requisites
- Degree in Engineering/Physical Metallurgy
- 5 years experience in metallurgical and mechanical testing laboratories
- Computer literacy
- English fluent – Spoken and Written
- Leadership QualitiesAble to coordinate and motivate
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build trust, respect, and confidentiality
- Acts quickly and decisively, able to make tough calls
- Analytical mind
- Monitor own work
- Able to work under pressure
- Independent in solving the problem
