Plant Manager

Robert Walters is recruiting a Plant Manager, to be based in Luanda, Angola.

Duties

• Establish and direct plant policies and procedures
• Work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability
• Engage with the factory logistics team to ensure that all sales orders are dispatched and delivered in a timely and efficient manor to external customers
• Monitor sales and stock reports of internal point of sales warehouses and dispatching and delivering finished goods as needed
• Plan and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment related to the plant (Converting Machines, Generators, Compressors, Forklifts)
• Review daily reports to ensure Logistics department is operating efficiently and cost effectively
• Collaborate with the import and logistics team and factory logistics team to ensure raw materials are delivered to the plant efficiently and correctly as stated in the packing list
• Approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labour and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all manufacturing employees
• Manage staff engaging with the process to develop personnel
• Actively oversee expenses and implement cost saving activities whilst maintaining product quality
• Maintain inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods stock and spare parts
• Manage the process for obtaining spare parts to overseas purchasing office
• Improve efficiency and enhance productivity
• Communicate with factory Brand Manager as well as Factory Director to develop new product strategies
• Co-ordinate with all governmental agencies including Economic Police, Environmental Agency and Labour Unions
• Co-ordinate with administration department to ensure 3rd party security company is providing adequate and appropriate security for the needs of the factory

Requisites

• 15+ years of relevant academic and professional experience
• Must be fluent in English, Portuguese/Spanish would be desirable
• BSc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
• 3+ years’ experience as production manager
• 5+ years’ experience in tissue converting
• More than 10 years’ experience in manufacturing
