Pressure Systems Integrity Team Leader

BP is recruiting a Pressure Systems Integrity Team Leader, to be based in Luanda, Angola.

Duties
  • The Pressure System Integrity (PSI) Team Leader (TL) will have responsibility for asset integrity of topsides pressure systems, including pipework, pressure vessels, tanks, and PSVs in the BP Angola Region; Regional assets comprise of two (2) Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) tankers located approximately 160 kilometres (86 nautical miles) off the coast of Angola, Africa in the southern Atlantic Ocean
  • The PSI TL provides support to the asset operations and engineering support teams in the area of integrity as appropriate
  • PSI TL provides regional leadership of the PSI Engineering sub-discipline
  • PSI TL provides Line Management of PSI Engineering resources within the IM Team, accountable for discipline capability, staff development, competency and deployment across Region
  • Approximately five (5) BP Staff and twenty-five (25) embedded inspection services contractor staff
  • Discipline specialities include inspection engineers, offshore inspectors, analysts, planners, and data management, specialists
  • PSI TL holds an independent view of PSI-related risk and supports local RAP process
  • PSI TL ensures BP Standards and processes are appropriately applied to PSI Engineering activities such as Fit for Service and ETPs
  • PSI TL fulfils the role of the "Inspection Authority" as defined by GP 32-30 for static pressure equipment systems
  • PSI TL ensures all PSI activities are scheduled through the Regional Activity Planning & Work Management processes. SAP PM & Backbone
  • PSI TL ensures BP Standards and processes are consistently applied in a quality manner for all Regional Pressure System activities (e.g.: F4S & ETPs)
  • PSI TL captures, coordinates, disseminates and tracks shared learning for the PSI Engineering discipline
  • PSI TL reviews/coordinates MOCs to ensure that PSI Engineering aspects of modifications are closed out in a thorough and timely manner
  • PSI TL will work closely with the Structures and Floating Systems Integrity Team Leader and Corrosion Team Leader to integrate total asset integrity management plans
  • PSI TL reports directly to the BP Angola Integrity Management Manager, Engineering Services, GOO, and, has functional interface with the above-region Pressure Systems Engineering Director
  • People Management: Lead In-Region PSI Meeting and participate in GOO Above-Region ELT
  • Support training and development for PSI Team members. Regional priority of nationalization
  • Efficient allocation of PSI support to other sub-Functions

  • Designated Inspection Authority for PSI (GP 32-30)
  • GOO Self-Verification and PHCA Contractor Self-Verification
  • Maintain RBA's are completed and maintained up to date, complete
  • Ensure PM build for pressure systems are aligned with RBA's
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Planning: Provide PSI input to the Regional Annual Plan
  • Lead development of Annual Activity Plan, scheduled through Activity Planning & Work Management (SAP_PM & Backbone)
  • Ensure inspection plans are up to date and executed in conformance with BP activity planning requirements
  • Interface with discipline TLs and IM contractor to prioritize and optimise execution of inspection
  • Participate in Activity planning meetings 8Q/4Q/12W/6W
  • Execution: Fulfil the role of the "Inspection Authority" as defined by GP 32-30 for static pressure equipment systems
  • Drive local PSI conformance to OMS 5.4 Essentials
  • Lead the Regional response to the Fit For Service (F4S) requirements for the static mechanical barrier (ie: PSI)
  • Manage response to short and long-term technical issues and provide resolution to tactical problems (ie: risk reduction)
  • Lead the Region's response to PSI Engineering related incidents and emerging issues
  • Deploy PSI related Functional tools (eg; ACET) and verify that they are being utilized in a standardized manner
  • Actively drive anomalies from identification through to completion (NOCO)
  • Ensure GPO has addressed PSI related requirements during Pre-Ops phase for any Major Project within Region
  • Performance Management: Timely management of actions assigned to team; Traction, IRIS, SPATS (regional)
  • Rigorous oversight of team output quality; eMOC, Risk Assessments, BOLL certificates, etc.
  • Deliver KPI reports and dashboards
  • Drive continuous improvement through rigorous performance management
  • AOM's Process Safety & Integrity Meetings
  • Delivering self-verification and OMS conformance activities
  • Manage performance contractor, including QPR's and KPIs
  • Organization Learning:Ensure lessons learned are captured and codified into specifications, practices or workflows
  • Provide technical support to other teams on integrity issues and supporting the MoC process
Requisites
  • A degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering or another relevant discipline
  • Non-degree qualified candidates with vocational experience shall be considered provided they have reached chartered engineer status
  • Demonstrate leadership and compliance with BP Angola's HSSE expectations
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the operating discipline, industry practice and technology and functional organisational environment
  • Extensive experience and technical understanding of the common industry NDT techniques and their advantages and drawbacks
  • Experience of inspection planning and execution in a live hydrocarbon processing environment
  • An understanding of materials properties, material degradation mechanisms and mitigation techniques within the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Conversant with isometric drawings, pressure equipment general arrangement drawings and piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs)
  • Familiar with the use of computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP PM) and inspection databases (e.g. ACET)
  • Competence in fitness for service techniques
  • Awareness of pressure system design codes and basic fitness for service assessments
  • Experience managing 3rd party service providers
  • Excellent written and fluent oral English language skills
  • Possess a sound track record of networking, teamwork and communication skills including the ability to deliver complex information in a concise manner to all levels of the Region
  • Strong interfacing skills: stakeholder management and cross-functional/cross-discipline resolution
