Rotating Equipment Engineer

BP is recruiting a Rotating Equipment Engineer, to be based in Luanda, Angola.

Duties
  • Maximize uptime and reduce business losses associated with topsides plant and equipment
  • Implement condition monitoring and technologies and analyse results
  • Manage main rotating equipment budget
  • Recommend major rotating equipment overhaul strategy, interval and costs
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions
  • Drives equipment reliability through maintenance
  • Ensures safe, reliable efficient planning of rotating equipment maintenance
  • Management and motivation of rotating equipment engineering specialists
  • Deployment of Unit Health Monitoring across Strategic Performance Unit (SPU)
  • Drive production improvement for Area Operations Manager (AOM) through investigation of losses and deep understanding of rotating equipment performance
  • Improve equipment reliability and availability
  • Engage workforce through deep understanding of rotating equipment and systems
  • Create information from data and feedback to update Maintenance strategy
  • Develop and own Operations Expense (OPEX) budget for major rotating machinery
  • Deliver main equipment overhauls against agreed plans and costs
  • Develop National staff capability and ownership
  • Share lessons learned with Segment
  • Global benchmark through technology
  • Responsible for contributing to the development of the Equipment Strategies of assigned equipment classes
  • Responsible for developing and improving the technical content of Specific Equipment Plans
  • Accountable for ensuring the Specific Equipment Plans are entered and used in the CMMS system as originally intended
  • Responsible for maintaining a list of Top 10 Bad Actors for assigned equipment classes, and developing and managing improvement actions
  • Responsible for participating in RCFA on assigned equipment and reviewing the quality of the output
  • Responsible for performing reliability analysis on the equipment using system trends, surveillance data and condition monitoring data, and establishing appropriate performance metrics
  • Responsible for developing critical equipment repair procedures and sparing strategy
  • Responsible for providing technical input and expertise into training materials and Operator Basic Care
  • Responsible for ensuring personal competency development tasks are completed
  • Responsible for participating in the Community of Practice for Work Management data and process and share lessons learned
  • Responsible for engaging with any projects or modifications associated with assigned equipment class to review and optimize the reliability of the design
Requisites
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Discipline
  • Extensive experience in operations and maintenance in oil and gas production or processing facilities
  • Experience and proven track record in delivery of all aspects of rotating equipment maintenance and overhaul of rotating machinery
  • Proven track record of improving rotating equipment reliability and availability in a process facility
  • Experience with maintenance strategy development and its implementation in an operating facility
  • Strong HSE and regulatory compliance record
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience influencing project teams and contractors
  • Strong teamwork skills and experience in working in multi-discipline teams
  • Strong working experience in preventive and predictive maintenance and condition monitoring
  • Excellent understanding of safety management in processing facility, with a demonstrated personal commitment to safety. Angolan Nationality
