Wood Group PSN is recruiting a Senior Maintenance Electrical Technician, to be based in Luanda, Angola.
Duties
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on on-line equipment
- Carry out work as directed, monitor and maintain the health of the Electrical Equipment associated within assigned area of the plant
- Identify common failures and their causes, troubleshoot and make recommendations for corrective action
- Provides accurate maintenance history and closeout reports of all completed work as per company requirements
- Lead and supports other disciplines in the troubleshooting and fault finding of equipment
- Ensure compliance at all times with the Company Environmental Health and Safety Procedures, as well as occupational health and safety regulations: similarly compliance with security
- Power Generation systems including protection, regulation, synchronisation and excitation
- Emergency power generation units
- Power transformers and oil analysis
- Load sharing & shedding system
- Electrical switchgear in the form of motor control centres and variable speed drives
- Switch board protection namely: Bus bar differential, Automatic transfer
- Switching device
- Equipment control namely: Programmable logic control and Thyristor controlled heaters
- Protection relays and devices
- Cables and protection
- High and low voltage motors
- UPS and Battery chargers
Requisites
- A number of years electrical maintenance experience in a diversified oil and gas- processing environment or petro-chemical process plant including time as spent in a Supervisory or Lead Technician role
- Knowledge of modern test equipment, monitoring and testing of control systems
- Intimate knowledge of reading and interpretation of schematic, logic, P & I drawings,
- Should be conversant with the terms of specifications of Hazardous locations as well as statutory inspections, maintenance and repair of such equipment
- Electrical based apprenticeship training, which should be a three to five year vocational credential
HNC \ HND qualified
- Computer literate with knowledge of SAP and commonly used Microsoft business software packages
- A strong focus on safety is paramount and practical know-how of permit to work systems and lock out procedures applicable to LNG / Petrochemical plants is required
- Request work permits as per company EHS policy
- HSE awareness in H2S and explosive environment
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs
